Hillcrest girls get a new name! "Hillcrest MeerKats"

Why MeerKats?
Meerkats live in a colony and are lead by a female.  They like to dig and work well together to accomplish a common goal. All of these traits are what make up great hockey players at Hillcrest.

This past season (2006-2007), in addition to our regular houseleauge program we had two tournament teams at the Bantam and Midget ages.  Congratulations to our Bantam girls.  They entered two houseleague girls' tournaments and brought home the championship in both tournaments!  The Midget tournament team also had a successful season making the quarter finals in two out of three tournaments.

For our 2007-2008 season we have two new tournament teams at PeeWee and Bantam ages.

 Girl Power

Founded in 1999 girls hockey at Hillcrest has gained powerful momentum and is our fastest growing division in our organization. You only have to watch the girls play to see why it has become so popular.

No hockey experience is required, the majority of the girls that play at Hillcrest had never held a stick before. Our non-contact league provides an opportunity to learn the game in a safe and friendly environment. It is a highly social sport for girls, as it allows the girls to bond on the ice and in the dressing room.

We offer:

  • Guaranteed one game per week
  • Practice every other week
  • Hockey development
  • Unique line change system at the younger ages
  • Team Sweater and Socks
  • Individual and team picture
  • Banquet
  • Trophies
  • and most importantly a chance to play with old friends

If you are tired of watching boys have all the fun, playing hockey, why not give girls’ hockey a try?
